Going into any venture, it is always important to run a background check. This is particularly more important when you own a business and you’re thinking of taking on new staff.

Without a background check, you would never know if you’re employing the right kind or not.

The building and construction industry is perhaps least worried about background checks. Once they have a really qualified engineer, and a few truly competent technical staffs, they don’t mind hiring anyone else as long as they have the muscle. Integrity, accountability, etc. , are luxuries that can be done without for the duration of a single project. It does hurt sometime, but they get along, and no serious damage is done.
Background investigations and privacy laws are like checks and balances.

Soon it’ll be Ash Wednesday.

To some this day doesn’t mean anything, to others it’s a religious day. It is the 1st day of “Lent” and it’s the 7th Wednesday before Easter where they put ashes on the foreheads of the faithful as a sign of repentance. This is what I remember about this holiday as we used to go to church for every holiday when I was growing up.
I was brought up thinking of clergymen as the representation of “God” on earth such as a disciple. They are supposed to be holy and pure individuals.
